form-of-rice

Form of rice

There are multiple forms of rice and each one is attained by processing it differently. For example, for raw rice, paddy is dried by steamed dryers. To get steamed rice, Paddy is given high pressure steam and then dried in the steam dryers. For sella(parboiled), it’s a longer process. First, the paddy is given high pressure steam, followed by putting it into water for a carefully calibrated period of time which is dependent on the colour requirements demanded by the buyer. Next, high pressure steam is given again, followed by drying the paddy again in steam dryers. All this is done using expert quality benchmarks to ensure every grain is of the highest quality and in the right form.

Milling of rice

This is done using all the latest world class techniques to keep the natural aroma, taste and texture intact. After the paddy is processed, it is put in the milling section where the husk is removed by dehusking rubber rollers, separated by a separator and then polished by whiteners two or three times to remove the rice bran and rice polish. Removing of the rice bran increases itself life and enhance the appearance of the grain. In the last step of the milling of rice, it is given that extra shine with the help of water jet polishers.Buhler’s whitening and polishing equipment helps us enhance several rice quality parameters and helps attain an excellent rice grain surface by using uniform and gentle whitening.

removal-of-impurities

Removal of impurities

The rice is then put in the colour sortex to remove any impurities and finally sieving is done in graders to separate the broken and immature grains from whole rice. Laboratory check: This whole rice is then sent to the laboratory section to check all the parameters like length, L/B ratio, moisture, whiteness kett, broken percentage etc.. At the end, a final cooking test is done here.
